Giant Pride flags take over one Times Square digital billboards

In honour of Pride month, the new full height digital billboards on One Times Square have been showing the Pride Flag since yesterday. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall riots that served as a catalyst for the gay rights movement in the US and around the world.

This is not the first time that One Times Square has dedicated advertising space to a greater cause. On May 31st, the billboards were taken over by a video of two giant humpback whales doing a “Whale Ballet” which was a celebration of the return of whales to the New York City coastline and the beauty of the seas. One Times Square is owned by Jamestown L.P. and the billboards are run by the advertising firm New Tradition.
