Global WOO agenda spotlights OMA speakers as industry focus turns to regulation, data and creativity

The World Out of Home Organisation (WOO) has unveiled the headline contributors and themes for its 2026 Annual Congress in London, with OMA Independent Chair Charles Parry‑Okeden and Professor Dr Kai‑Marcus Thaesler both announced in leading roles.

Creativity, sustainability, data and measurement, and regulation will underpin the agenda for the global gathering, reflecting the issues shaping the future of Out of Home (OOH) media worldwide.

Professor Dr Kai‑Marcus Thaesler will lead WOO’s work on regulation, championing a coordinated global monitoring and action plan designed to address increasing regulatory pressure across markets. The initiative includes an early‑warning policy radar to track emerging legislation before it escalates.

Thaesler, who also serves on the WOO Board and is Managing Director of Germany’s outdoor media association FAW, brings deep expertise spanning academia, media and public policy. A former Professor of Digital Marketing at FOM University of Applied Sciences, he has spent decades working at the intersection of media, governance and regulation.

Australian audiences will hear directly from Thaesler next month when he appears as a keynote speaker at the 2026 OMA Industry Conference at W Sydney on 7 May, where he will explore the latest thinking in governance and how the OOH sector can take a more unified approach to regulatory challenges.

Meanwhile, Charles Parry‑Okeden will focus on data and measurement for WOO, following the recent launch of Australia’s world‑leading MOVE system as the new currency for OOH. WOO will also release its latest Global OOH Expenditure Survey, consolidating standardised spend data from more than 80 territories worldwide.

Rounding out the WOO leadership team, Tim Bleakley, Chairman of Ocean Outdoor, will oversee creativity, while Katrin Robertson, CEO of blowUP media, will lead sustainability.
