Out of Home is evolving fast, with more environments, formats and buying options than ever. But successful campaigns still start with the basics.

That’s where the Media Federation of Australia’s (MFA) Out of Home Foundations course can help, giving newcomers and experienced media professionals the practical knowledge to plan with confidence.

Developed in collaboration with the Outdoor Media Association (OMA), MFA Out of Home Foundations covers best-practice foundational knowledge to help teams plan, buy and evaluate OOH campaigns more effectively. It is open to media owners, clients and agency professionals.

“I genuinely believe that the stronger our industry’s foundations are, the better the outcomes we’ll deliver for clients, and the MFA Out of Home Foundations course absolutely nails this,” said James Lambert, Head of Client Enablement at WPP Media.

An industry veteran with more than 12 years’ experience, Lambert said the course stood out for its practical value.

“It brings together practical learning, industry expertise and real-world application in a way that’s engaging and easy to understand.”

Jaimee Shurdington, Planning & Trading Manager at Atomic212, has four years’ industry experience and found the programmatic elements particularly useful.

“The MFA Out of Home Foundations course was a great introduction to OOH, covering all the formats in clear detail,” she said.

“As someone who predominantly buys traditional OOH, I found it valuable for building my knowledge of programmatic buying, and the broader industry landscape.

“It was also beneficial that the latest MOVE update was reflected in the measurement module. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to deepen their understanding of the OOH space no matter their experience in the industry.”

OMA and MOVE Chief Executive Officer Elizabeth McIntyre said education is fundamental to the continued growth of Out of Home.

“The MFA Out of Home Foundations course gives media professionals the knowledge and confidence to make the most of a channel that continues to deliver exceptional results for advertisers.

“We are proud of our ongoing partnership with the MFA to develop industry capability, encourage best practice and ensure OOH remains at the forefront of modern media planning.”
